If Prenatal Consult:

(90 minute Class)

Breastfeeding Class: (Insurance may not pay if Prenatal)

*Will review the how to’s of breastfeeding, milk supply, responsive feeding cues, baby behaviors and how to know if baby getting enough.

*Proactive start for breastfeeding/ lactation success

*Intake medical, medications– surgical history as preventive for risk with milk supply

*Breast assessment if mother has concerns

* Use of Breastpump: Collection and storage

Massage Class: (No Insurance coverage)

Will review the how to’s for entire body massage. Focus newborn to toddler age

If Day of delivery - First few days old - Postpartum & older

Initial Consult:

(90 minutes) Comprehensive Mother - Baby Assessment:

Encourage mother to tell birth story

Assess Mother’s breasts/ anatomy and Baby’s demeanor, behavior, alignment and oral anatomy

Current breastfeeding sessions…is Baby satisfied or not, baby’s daily Intake, voids and stools

Assess integrity and comfort of nipples and breast.

Pre and Post weight (may be necessary)

Observe Breastfeeding session:

Latch, position, hold and breast milk transfer

Basic Intake information:

To include Mothers current pregnancy health - delivery status & Baby’s Gestational age,delivery date and status

Plan ahead: Build up milk supply (collection & storage) if going back to work, trip or need of surgery

Outcome to manage current and prevent further challenges:
